Hello Michael,
I contacted Taiyee by email, but the website is down and they’re not replying to emails.
I looked into the Hub8735U to use PS5268 (but it’s not compatible with AMB82). Do you know of a manufacturer that could make PS5268 or IMX662 cameras that work directly with AMB82? (I’ve already tried buying and customizing them, and it requires a lot of adjustments with mediocre results.)
Thank you for your help!
We are currently working on adapting Arducam camera for AmebaPro2 platform. In the meantime, based on your requirements, you may explore IMX209, as its specifications and pricing are comparable to IMX327.
Please ensure that the physical pin configuration of your camera module is exactly the same as the image shared by Pammy earlier in this thread. Once that is verified, you may select the camera within Arduino IDE under the Tools section as shown below.
You can run the Files -> Examples -> AmebaMultimedia -> StreamRTSP -> VideoOnly to check if it is working normally.
We are using Ameba2 Pro Mini (RTL8735B) with a camera module based on Sony IMX327. The module manufacturer (Supertek/CZTEK) provided configuration file IMX327_4L_1950x1080_RAW10_11_34.ini with the following parameters:
In Arduino we have selected Board: Ameba2 Pro Mini, Tools → Camera: IMX327. The firmware loads sensor_imx327.bin and iq_imx327.bin from the package (e.g. ameba_pro2_tools 1.4.5, SENSOR_IMX327). Sensor is reported as id 1.
Problem: The video pipeline fails to open. Serial log shows:
[video_voe_presetting] fps:24 w:1920 h:1080
sensor id 1 iq_data 17840 sensor_data 29940
VOE command 0x206 fail ret 0x1
VOE_OPEN_CMD command fail
hal_video_open fail
[VID Err] Please check sensor id first, the id is 1
We have tried:
VIDEO_FHD 1920×1080 @ 24 fps and 30 fps
VIDEO_HD 1280×720
RTSP (H.264) and HTTP JPEG examples — the same error at Camera.videoInit() / hal_video_open
Tools → Camera = IMX327 confirmed
So the sensor is detected (id 1) but VOE does not open. We suspect a mismatch: our module is 1950×1080 per manufacturer INI, while the SDK’s IMX327 binaries may be for 1920×1080 or a different register set.
We have:
Full serial log from boot until the error
Manufacturer’s INI (IMX327_4L_1950x1080_RAW10_11_34.ini) and register list extracted from it (FullModeParams, ExposureParams, GainParams, etc.)
Could you please advise:
Is there a recommended sensor_imx327.bin / iq_imx327.bin (or sensor set) for IMX327 at 1950×1080 that we can use with the current Ameba Pro2 Arduino package? If yes, where to obtain it and how to install (replace files in video_img / voe_bin)?
Is there an SDK update, patch, or different build option (e.g. RTOS SDK sensor.h + custom resolution 1950×1080) that we should use for this module?
Any known limitation or required configuration for IMX327 1950×1080 on RTL8735B (e.g. only via RTOS SDK, specific sensor id, or IQ version)?
We have also contacted the camera module manufacturer (Supertek/CZTEK) in parallel to request RTL8735B-compatible sensor binaries or a conversion tool from their INI format.
Yes, once it is supported in the FreeRTOS SDK, we will be able to support it in the Arduino SDK as well.
The list of supported cameras in Arduino/ FreeRTOS SDK reflects the sensors that are technically supported by the SDK/driver and have been validated internally.
While there are many camera sensors available online, compatibility with the AmebaPro2 Mini depends on whether the camera module follows the supported pinout.
