Facing promem for SD interface with RTL8720dn via SPI

I hope this message finds you well. I am currently working with the RTL8720DN chip and have encountered an issue where the SD card is not being recognized as expected. Despite following the standard setup and configuration procedures, the SD card is not functioning correctly. Below are the details of the issue:

  • Chip Model: RTL8720DN
  • SD Card Type: MicroSD Card 16GB
  • Firmware/Software Version: Ameba SDK
  • Operating System/Platform: Windows
  • Interface: SPI (Intended interface for SD card connection)

Description of Issue:

I am attempting to interface the SD card with the RTL8720DN using the SPI protocol. However, I have encountered difficulties in getting the SD card recognized by the system. I initially referred to the FatFS_SD library, but it appears to support the SDIO interface, which does not align with my current setup.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance on the following:

  1. Are there any specific configurations or settings required to interface the SD card using SPI with the RTL8720DN chip?
  2. Are there any driver or firmware updates available that may help resolve this issue?
  3. If there are any example projects or libraries tailored to SPI-based SD card interfacing, that would be extremely helpful.

Unfortunately, currently we do not have any examples or libraries for SPI-based SD card interfacing, we have included it as a pending feature in SDK. If you would like, you may write a driver for this feature and create a pull request on Pull requests · Ameba-AIoT/ameba-arduino-d · GitHub
