Can AMB82-Mini work with IMX681 using only 2 MIPI lanes?

hi @pammyleong,

I am using the IMX681 camera sensor. The sensor normally uses 4 MIPI lanes, but in my design we use a converter, and now we only have 2 MIPI lanes going to the AMB82-Mini.

I want to ask:

  1. Can AMB82-Mini work with a 2-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera?

  2. Do I need to change any settings or firmware?

  3. I have a pinout picture — can someone check if my MIPI lane connection is correct?

Hi @madava_ramagiri,

  1. The AMB82-Mini should work with a 2-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera.

  2. Ensure that you have the correct camera sensor selected in the sensor.h file and do a clean build afterwards.

  3. The pinout that you have provided looks to be identical to the one on the AMB82-Mini.

Once everything looks to be in order, do give it a try with the VOE log enabled in “sdk/component/video/driver/RTL8735B/video_api.h”.

If you encounter any “[VOE]i2c….” errors, it means that there is an issue with the pin connections which could be due to the converter. Another potential cause for this is if the I2C slave address of your sensor is mismatched with the sensor driver, for this you may refer to our camera module guide to troubleshoot in the meantime.
