Uart in Half Duplex

Hi guys,
some of the MCUs provide uart in half duplex mode. Is that a case for Ameba Pro 2? Cant find a way to do so using SDK, but maybe some hidden MCU registers can handle it by using only single pin of the module?
If not, the only way is to tie RX and TX pins, right?

It looks like there is no half duplex mode supported for the UARTs on Ameba Pro 2. You would probably need an external circuit to achieve it.

Thanks! It is in SDK, but I thought maybe there is some bit in some register to turn it on. Will try with TX and RX tie through resistor. Should work.
