Question regarding sample PCB layout

I am reviewing a RTL-AMB82-MINI-Layout PCB; why are U3 and R15 overlapping?

Hi @Seokjin,

This PCB uses a common co-lay (dual-footprint) design, where either U3 or R15 can be populated depending on the required Wi-Fi band support.

  • U3 is a DPX (Diplexer).
  • R15 is a 33pF capacitor.
  1. If U3 is populated:
  • The design supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz).
  1. If R15 is populated instead:
  • The design supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only.

Only one option should be populated at a time.
