# Set 5ghz preferred instead of 2.4ghz with same SSID

I have the same SSID on the 2.4 and 5 Ghz, but the rtl8720dn as a wifi client is always connecting to the 2.4Ghz. Is there a command to switch to 5 ghz (and back) or to set the 5 ghz as preferred.

Hi @Jaap_Biesheuvel,  
Set the channel to be 36 de fault connect to 5GHz.

Use `netsh wlan show interfaces` to check the WLAN adapter status.

Thanks for the response but that is not what I need. I need a simple command to set from 2.4 to 5Ghz and vice versa. Or prefferred 2.4 to 5Ghz and vice versa as a client. Which is possible for every wifi adaptor driver in Windows.
